Every year we say we’re going to plant a garden - and then we don’t. Sound familiar to anyone?
It sounds wonderful and all, but honestly, there’s a lot about planting that I don’t know. I am on level 1 of planting if there is such thing. Buy a plant, get some dirt, find an empty pot and go to town. Maybe add some water and plant food as well.
I love to make a room or a space in a house special. I mean, there’s just something wonderful about a room that is full of pieces with a story.
If you come into our home, we could spend all day chatting about the pieces of furniture we built (or the projects we DIYed), why we decided to build them, and some funny stories to go along with them. Or about the gorgeous antique pieces I found while ‘junking’.
That reminds me of AOL - those were the good ol’ days. Did anyone else instantly think of that?
Unfortunately (or fortunately) the days of AOL are gone. Please tell me you're not still on AOL. But, we are still getting snail mail. Let’s be honest, most of the mail we get these days is junk. Every once in awhile, we will receive a sweet card from a family member or an actual invitation to a party. These things are exciting, who doesn’t love the anticipation of what’s inside that envelope?
String art has been popular all over the nation. I am seeing string art on Pinterest, parties on Facebook, and events in our area.
Since I wanted something seasonal that had to do with Spring and flowers, I decided to make a mason jar. Now you’re probably wondering what a mason jar has to do with Spring and flowers. Well, let me show you!
Here in the midwest we have been seeing warmer temperatures, consistently. Hello Spring! This also means there are plants and flowers EVERYWHERE! I mean, when Target busts out their garden and patio stuff, you can’t just walk past it.
With plants and flowers on my mind, I couldn’t help but think about the poor tree that has lived on our porch for years. Friends, it died this winter. I don’t know how it happened, but it did. That was THE ONLY THING I could keep alive.
Let me guess, you have a ton of Pinterest boards full of wedding ideas. Your head is spinning with all of the possibilities. You made a spreadsheet for your budget. You've started to think about who all will be involved in the big day. You’ve considered a destination wedding.
Now that the concrete countertops are done and out of the way, our kitchen is finally starting to come together. If you haven’t read the DIY Concrete Countertop series and you have no idea what I’m talking about, find the posts here:
This was one of the biggest decisions we’ve had to make as a married couple (okay maybe not that big, but it was important). And because of this large decision, our kitchen project kept getting delayed.
Several years ago, gender reveal parties were unheard of. Today, they are growing in popularity and sometimes even more extravagant than a baby shower!
Friends, my dear cousin is having her second baby and I am so excited! So much so that she graciously let me get involved in the planning process for her gender reveal party. Lucky me? Or lucky her? :)
It’s Monday! If you love breakfast as much as I do, you will love our newest wood table build.
When I say newest build, I mean the most recent thing we have built before we started our l o n g kitchen project. Read about our latest kitchen updates, here. (Be sure to follow greywoodmama on Instagram for behind the scenes updates!)
A breakfast table. Yep, it’s only for breakfast. Kidding, it gets used for everything. I’m still calling it a breakfast table, tough.
In my last kitchen update, I went over the small progress that we had made. I then extended our completion date from Christmas to Valentine’s Day. I'm thinking we may need to extend it again. Friends, this has really been a l o n g process. I knew it was going to be a lot of work, but man is it a lot of work.
